If you are a serious designer it is worth the trip to New York to attend
"Open See". One of the benefits is they critique your fashion accessories at least they did When I and a
friend attended in 2006

My friend and I were impressed with the way things were handled. My friend was seeking to be discovered.
Her handbags was not selected but the representative gave her insight on what she felt she could have done differently, as well as advise on what markets she
should pursue based on her style of handbags. |
|
The
information she received was very helpful in determining the best
marketing route for her. Not to say everyone who attends will have a
representive who offers such good advise, but it is still worth the trip.

If you do plan to attend you will need to get there early they stop taking
in designers at 12:00noon. and the lines are very long. Many people have
traveled from a long way to attend the event and it would be very
discouraging for them not to be able to get in which is why some people
start lining up as early as 5:00am. It has been rumored that some
designers camp out there overnight, I don't know how true that is.

My friend and I arrived a little late due to the traffic getting into NY
and the lines were all the way around the corner you would think they was
giving something away free. We got in by the skin our teeth we were the
last ones to get in. And we were there
2 hours before the 12:00noon deadline. Now you understand why
I say it is best to get there early if you plan to attend. Any way they
say the early bird catches the worm.

Henri Bendel is Located at 712 Fifth Avenue near 56th Street.
