Unclaimed Property:

Is Your State Holding Your Unclaimed Funds?
Last year, nearly a quarter of the 88,000 citizens
who searched the department’s unclaimed property database at fairs statewide learned that they, their business, a family member or friend may have
money coming to them. Each year millions of dollars are turned over to the State Treasurer's Office by businesses who are unable to contact property owners.

These funds may be in the form of cash, stocks, bonds, securities, insurance benefits, etc. The Unclaimed Property Division is responsible for holding the abandoned or unclaimed funds or property until the rightful owner or heir is found.

I once told a family member about the database and he checked it and found out that his name was on the list. He filled in the required information and sent it into the state and to make a long story short he found out he was entitled to a few hundred dollars. What a blessing! He shared the information with friends and some of them also found that they were entitled to unclaimed  money.

To see if you are entitled to unclaimed property check your State Treasurer's Unclaimed Property Database to determine if they may be holding unclaimed assets belonging to you or a family member.

We have made every effort to direct you to the right page. Search the page carefully for a link to  unclaimed property or abandoned property information.  If you are unable to find the information contact your State Treasurer's office and request information on the  unclaimed property or abandoned property list.
