Planning is the first Step to Creating a Website

Plan: is the method used to obtain specific results. Carefully develop  a plan for your Website. Define your target audience in other words determine who are  your customers. What would appeal to you as the  customer? Search  around the Internet and see what your  competitors  sites  look like.
What would you do  differently? The Most time-consuming part of  developing a Website is putting  the content together so that is not only  presentable but appealing. You'll  want to outline the  objective, goals, target  audience, what type of  content you plan to put on your website  and the  desired style you  plan to achieve.
Visual appearance is  important !
The use of colors, consistency, content, graphics and good navigation all work together toward creating an effective Web site. Start with what you have, pictures, photos of your products, brochures, company logo and written materials. Write down any additional information you need to obtain.

The first thing a person sees when he calls up your site on the Internet is your website, that is why Visual Appearance is so important. Some things to keep
in mind when designing your website:
  • Keep the look of your Website consistent.
  • Use the same fonts and text colors throughout your site.
  • Don't too much mixing of fonts.
  • Your background colors should remain the same on each page.
  • Your logo should appear the same and located at the same place on each page.
  • Your image style should be standard.
  • Your site should be easy to navigate and your navigation system should be
repeated on every  page in the site, and can be located at the top, left, right or
bottom of your page. what ever you  decide be consistent.
  • Do not use too many graphics it will slow down you web site loading time
A site should down load quickly, the suggested amount of time is 15-20
seconds. Use the same headers and footers for each of your pages

  • Keep it simple not too flashy the idea is to bring attention to the products or service
you are selling. Once you learn HTML coding, create a page template and use it as
a blueprint for each of your Web pages.

  • Maintain your site. Keep your site up to date.
