HOW TO
INSTALL MAGNETIC SNAPS

Magnetic
Snaps add extra security to a
purse and
gives it
more
of
a professional look. Magnetic
Snaps
come in different
finishes, sizes and shapes.
A complete magnetic snap set will
include (1)
female part, (1) male part and
two washers / backs for the 2 parts of the snap.
The washers were made to fit right over the
prongs of the snaps.

Materials Needed:
|
- Female Part (1)
- Male Part (1)
- Washers ( 2 )
- Stabilizer ( Optional)
Suggested Stabilizers:
batting or small piece of interfacing or plastic canvas.

Step: 1
|
|
Find the midpoint on your purse and cut 2 slits in the fabric at the location where
you plan to put the snap. It is a good idea to use a fabric marker to mark off the midpoint location.

Step: 2
|
|
Take one part of the magnetic snap male
or female and push the metal prongs through the slit of the
fabric. Please note that the prongs should be on the inside or wrong
side of your bag.

Step: 3
|
|
Add a small piece of stabilizer of your choice (see above
for suggested stabilizers). If using plastic canvas push the
canvas against the prongs
and push the prongs through the the holes of the canvas other
wise make 2 slits in the stabilizer to push prongs
through. This will hold the prongs in place
and provides stability to the snap.

Step: 4
|
Next add the washers and push prongs through the holes of the
washer
and press outward and down to secure.If you prefer you can also press the prongs inward
either way is correct.
Repeat these steps to
attach
opposite end of the magnetic snap make sure they line up correctly. (Figure 3)
